Ha-Seong Kim Will Take Outfield Reps
4 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Ha-Seong Kim will take outfield reps in the closing days of spring training. With starting center fielder Trent Grisham (hamstring) questionable for Opening Day, the Friars are experimenting positions, potentially shifting Tommy Pham or Jurickson Profar to center. Kim played shortstop and third base across seven seasons in the KBO, but he's expected to primarily platoon with Jake Cronenworth at the keystone. Kim mashed 30 homers with 23 steals and a .920 OPS last season in Korea but has hit just .103 with 11 strikeouts in 33 plate appearances this spring. Brimming with potential, the 25-year-old's ADP has dipped to 233 due to the uncertain playing time. Any versatility he develops should boost his stock throughout the season.
