Harold Castro Departs Early Saturday With Apparent Injury
4 years agoDetroit Tigers utilityman Harold Castro (back/hamstring) exited Saturday’s contest versus the Royals after appearing to injure his back/hamstrings on a swing. Castro missed time earlier this year due to a strained left hamstring, which may have been the cause, but he cedes way to Eric Haase, with Austin Romine shifting over to first base and Brandon Dixon to second. With the amount of discomfort that Castro appeared to be in, it’s difficult to see Detroit sending him out for Sunday’s season finale, likely ending his year as a .347 batter across 22 contests. Depending on his role come 2021, Castro could see some season-long fantasy intrigue as the spring unfolds.
