Hector Neris Blows Save, Picks Up Win
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris blew his second save of the season on Friday, but picked up the win when the home team walked-off in the bottom of the ninth. Neris wasn't hit hard as he allowed two infield singles and a walk to go along with two strikeouts. Despite being just 2-for-4 in save chances, Neris still feels relatively secure as the Phillies closer. The team doesn't have an obvious candidate to take over the role and Neris was good last season pitching to a 2.93 ERA with 11.8 K/9. Manager Joe Girardi has a history of patience with his closer dating back to his days with the Yankees so fantasy managers should stick with Neris in their lineups.
