4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris picked up his first save of the season on Sunday pitching a scoreless ninth inning against the Braves. Neris put himself in some trouble by walking two batters, but managed to escape unscathed while picking up a strikeout along the way. The 31-year-old righty was named the team's closer by manager Joe Girardi so he should be rostered in all leagues that value saves. The walks are concerning, but Neris never posted a double-digit walk rate before last season so there's not too much reason for concern right now. Keep Neris in starting lineups as long as he's got the ninth-inning role.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
