Hector Neris Slams Door On Dodgers For 10th Save
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris pitched a clean ninth inning to earn his 10th save of the season Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Neris needed just 10 pitches to preserve a 2-0 win for the visitors in his first outing since manager Joe Girardi gave Neris a vote of confidence as the team's closer. The right-hander allowed a three-run homer in his last outing and has been shaky at times as the closer in Philly. Girardi, however, has a history of being loyal to his guys and he went right back to Neris in this one which is a good sign for fantasy managers. On the season Neris has 10 saves in 14 chances with a 3.04 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings. He's a must-roster RP in fantasy as long as he's collecting saves.
