Henry Davis Continues To Show Power On The Farm
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates catcher prospect Henry Davis continued his strong start to the season on Thursday for High-A Greensboro. The first overall pick in the 2021 draft, Davis went 3-for-5 with a home run and career-high four RBI. The backstop has been off to a great start in his first full season of his professional career and is now hitting .350 with a 1.048 OPS to go along with five home runs and 22 RBI in his first 80 at-bats. Davis only played in eight games in 2021 due to an oblique injury, but impressed in his short time with three home runs and a .308 batting average. The 22-year-old could climb the ranks quickly by continuing to swing the bat as he has, but he has work to do behind the plate as a defender and with the Pirates unwillingness to want to promote prospects, Davis' best value is in dynasty leagues.
