3 years agoAdditional testing showed that Pittsburgh Pirates catching prospect Henry Davis (wrist) has a non-displaced fracture in his left wrist, according to head athletic trainer Todd Tomcyzk. The injury stemmed from when Davis was hit by a pitch at High-A Greensboro. The 22-year-old backstop is currently in a splint and will be out for an extended period of time in the minor leagues. The Pirates No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, was hitting .333/.454/.598 with a 1.051 OPS, six home runs, 24 RBI, 20 runs scored and five stolen bases in 108 plate appearances with Greensboro and Double-A Altoona this year before his injury. The good news is that the injury is to Davis' non-throwing arm, so last year's first overall pick could be back sooner than later.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
