Homer Bailey Excels Against Phillies
7 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Homer Bailey turned in an excellent performance against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. Bailey spun six innings of one-run ball, striking out seven and allowing two hits. Unfortunately, Bailey was let down by his bullpen, which promptly came on to cough up five runs in the final two frames of the game. Bailey has now turned in two good starts sandwiched around a rough one. On the year, Bailey has a 0-2 record, 3.24 ERA, and 12 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings of work. Pitching for a poor team in a hitter-friendly home park, he's still going to be tough to trust in mixed leagues but he should be on your radar in NL-only formats.
