4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Homer Bailey had a rough start in a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs. Bailey lasted three innings, allowing five hits and four earned runs, three of which came on home runs. The veteran did strike out three batters, though he struggled at times with location. He hung a splitter to Anthony Rizzo and left two fastballs up in the zone to Wilson Contreras, who homered twice. It's obviously not a cause for concern just yet but it's not an ideal end to spring training/summer camp for Bailey. The 34-year-old will have to figure things out a bit quicker in light of the shortened season.--Tim Capurso
