5 years agoWashington Nationals second baseman Howie Kendrick was awarded NLCS MVP after the Nationals beat the Cardinals 7-0 to earn a spot in the World Series. Kendrick went 0-for-3 in Game 4 but came up huge countless times throughout the series. The 36-year-old enjoyed a huge bounce back this season even though he played a reduced role on the team. The veteran, however, still managed to hit .344 with 17 home runs and 62 runs batted in. He has continued that hitting into the postseason, hitting .333 in the NLCS with four doubles and four runs batted in. The Nationals now will get a chance at their first championship in franchise history thanks to the veteran's clutch play.--Joey C - RotoBaller
