6 years agoWashington Nationals second baseman Howie Kendrick went 1-for-4 on Monday with a home run and a walk. The veteran is now slashing .309/.345/.527 with two home runs and seven RBI, providing owners with sneaky value. He's gotten hits in all but two of his last 10 games dating back to April 4. While he has started in both the outfield and at first base, he's seeing most of his starts at second, covering for the injured Daniel Murphy. Murphy is just now headed to Florida for extended spring training, so Kendrick should continue getting at-bats. The one blip? He's only drawn two walks all season. If he increases his walk rate, he'll be one of the better steals from the late rounds or waiver wire. Right now, he's rosterable in all but the smallest of leagues.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
