Hunter Harvey Aiming For Late August Return

4 years agoBaltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Hunter Harvey has been sidelined thus far in 2020 due to an elbow injury. But manager Brandon Hyde made the point Saturday that the team hopes to have its former top prospect back by the end of August. The righty is reportedly “feeling great” as he aims to rejoin Baltimore’s bullpen after a brief seven-game stint last season that saw him whiff 11 batters in 6 ⅓ innings with just one run allowed. While Harvey’s days as a starter may be uncertain, his odds of becoming a key cog in the Orioles’ bullpen remain high if he can stay healthy. There’s no reason to nab him off the waiver wire just yet, but he’s a name to keep an eye on upon his activation.--Jesse Borek
