6 years agoTwo San Diego Padres outfielders with uncertain roles in 2019 are Hunter Renfroe and Franmil Reyes. With Manuel Margot and Franchy Cordero competing in center field and Wil Myers manning a corner spot, the outlook for Renfroe and Reyes remains cloudy. With both being right-handed power hitters, their skill sets appear redundant. Renfroe ended 2018 on a power surge, knocking 18 of his 26 homers in August and September. Meanwhile, Reyes raised his average from .254 to .280 in the final month of the season and cranked 16 long balls of his own. Both have demonstrated satisfactory results against right-handed pitching while demolishing lefties. Padres manager Andy Green continues playing coy about his ideal playing split. Collectively, the two sluggers could test 40 homers and each makes an intriguing case as a rotational fantasy player. Compared to Renfroe’s ADP of 187, Reyes (223) currently holds slightly better value at the draft table.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
