4 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Hunter Renfroe hit his first home run of the season in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Minnesota Twins. Renfroe, who missed the last three games with general soreness, had struggled mightily before the homer, starting the season in a 3-for-20 rut with no extra-base hits. He got the start against the left-handed J.A. Happ and proved he could still hit southpaws; he has slugged .572 against them over his career. With Franchy Cordero starting the season hot, Renfroe has been delegated to the fourth-outfielder role, but expect him to keep getting at-bats against left-handed pitching.--Daniel Fox
