Hunter Renfroe Sits For Game 1 Of Doubleheader
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Hunter Renfroe is not among the club’s starting nine for Game 1 of Thursday’s doubleheader versus Baltimore, but manager Kevin Cash reiterated that Renfroe would be a significant part of the club’s mix down the stretch. Despite his considerable thump, Renfroe has hit just .157 in 35 games this year, with his OPS+ dipping to 78, which would far and away be the lowest mark of his career. Tampa Bay has made extensive use of platooning in 2020, making it likely that Renfroe sees the vast majority of his at-bats against southpaws to close the year, capping his intrigue to the DFS market.
