5 years agoAfter a breakout first half, San Diego Padres outfielder Hunter Renfroe posted an abysmal .562 OPS after the All-Star break, finishing the year with a .216/.289/.489 slash, 33 homers, 128 runs-plus-RBI and five steals. Renfroe’s early-season performance and emergence as a quality defender permitted the Friars to part ways with popular outfielder Franmil Reyes, but his finish to the season will once again raise questions on his long-term viability with the squad. The 27-year-old’s prodigious power is well documented after his third straight 25-plus homer campaign, but the consistency remains an issue. Barring an offseason shakeup, Renfroe should enter 2020 as a starter and his power will always give him fantasy upside. But with shared playing time possible, he’ll probably just be a late-round flier in drafts.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
