7 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Hunter Strickland (hand) threw 20 pitches to hitters at the team's spring training complex on Thursday and should be ready to come off the 60-day disabled list when he's eligible in 16 days. Strickland had been serving as the team's closer but has been out since June 18. Will Smith has been doing a fine job lately in the ninth, so it's unclear if Strickland will be put back into the closer's role when he's ready.
