Hyun- Jin Ryu Musters Quality Start Versus Yankees
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu had a ho-hum day versus the Yankees on Tuesday, allowing three runs over six innings pitched in the club's 6-5 loss. He struck out just three batters while walking four and allowing five hits, two of which left the yard in the 92-pitch no-decision. Ryu hasn't been at his sharpest in the month of June with 12 earned runs in three starts and just seven punchouts in 17 2/3 IP. To his credit, he has faced three tough lineups, but his durability remains a question mark after just one season of 160 IP or more since 2013. The southpaw will take a 3.43 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP into his next scheduled start versus the Orioles this weekend.
