4 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu put in a solid showing in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Rays, although he managed to get a no-decision. The veteran left-hander struck out seven batters over 6 2/3 while allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk as he set a new season-high with 107 pitches. Ryu now holds a sparkling 2.53 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 52 punchouts in 53 1/3 innings pitched, serving as a true ace for the Jays staff. He'll have a tougher test in his next start versus the Yankees on the road, but he's pitching too good right now to consider benching him at all.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
