3 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson (shoulder) is playing long toss and is expected to throw off the mound later this week, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic. Anderson landed on the IL on July 16 with inflammation in his right shoulder after scuffling in his last start against Miami, where he allowed four runs on six hits and five walks in 2 1/3 innings of work. Over 18 starts this season, Anderson is 5-5 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.250 WHIP and 24.3 percent strikeout rate across 96 innings pitched. There's still no set timetable for when he'll return, with manager Brian Snitker saying he'll need at least one rehab start before he can be activated. Managers should continue to stash him on the IL and keep an eye out for further updates.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
