Ian Happ Departs Early Thursday With Apparent Injury
4 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ left Thursday's game against the Pirates after fouling a pitch into the ground, which then bounced up and hit him in the face. Happ immediately went to the ground and was tended to by trainers prior to departing, with Cameron Maybin taking over in his place. Happ sits fourth in the majors with a 1.068 OPS during his breakout campaign in which he has taken over as the everyday center fielder. Coupled with his recent shift up the lineup card to the leadoff spot, he should be rostered in all season-long formats so long as he is healthy going forward. His next chance to return to the mix comes Friday versus the Cardinals and ace Jack Flaherty.
