4 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ will remain the team's leadoff hitter to start the 2021 campaign. Happ put together a fine season for the Cubs last year and earned the job after opening the 2020 campaign in the ninth spot of the order. Manager David Ross spoke about Happ on Tuesday and said that Happ did a phenomenal job last season and continues to work on his strengths and weaknesses. The Cubs have struggled at the top of the order since Dexter Fowler left as a free agent following the 2016 season, but Happ likes the challenge that the leadoff spot presents. Happ hit .258 with 12 homers, 28 RBI and an .866 OPS in 57 games last year, with 37 of those games coming out of the leadoff spot. Happ hit .239 in the No. 1 spot this past season and in 275 career plate appearances as a leadoff hitter, Happ has an .809 OPS with 15 home runs. The switch-hitting outfielder is coming off of a strong season, and fantasy managers looking for outfield help later in their drafts should consider Happ.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
