3 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ (shoulder) is recovering from right elbow surgery that he had in February, but he should be fine for the start of the regular season. Happ said the surgery was a cleanup procedure that removed loose bodies from his throwing elbow. The surgery wasn't serious, but it's something to watch for the 27-year-old once spring training games get underway later this week. At the very least, Happ should be able to serve as the designated hitter early in the year if his throwing isn't back to normal. He doesn't make enough consistent contact to help fantasy managers in the average department, but the switch-hitter has plenty of power (career-high 25 homers in 2021) and some modest speed (28 steals in five MLB seasons).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
