6 years agoLos Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia confirmed that second baseman Ian Kinsler (groin) should only miss Opening Day and is planning to be in the lineup Friday. It was thought all along that this was a very minor injury for Kinsler, and that appears to be the case. In his absence, Zack Cozart is leading off and starting at second base on Thursday, paving the way for Shohei Ohtani to serve as the designated hitter while Luis Valbuena takes over at third. Expect Cozart back at third with Ohtani hitting the bench when Kinsler returns Friday.--patton
