7 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Ian Kinsler (hamstring) will be placed on the disabled list after leaving the game early on Friday with left hamstring tightness. Infielder Tony Renda will be recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket in a corresponding move. The team is hoping Kinsler will spend the minimum time on the DL after just acquiring him from the Angels earlier this week. Renda was hitting .333/.358/.478 with two home runs, seven doubles and eight RBI in 21 games for Pawtucket, but he figures to be more of a utility bat with Xander Bogaerts (hand) also ailing. With Kinsler out and Bogaerts still sidelined, it could be Brock Holt and Eduardo Nunez up the middle for the rest of the weekend.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
