3 years agoNew York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin (lower body) might have escaped a serious injury on Friday. The Russian had to leave a 1-0 win over San Jose early in the third period with an apparent leg problem, but head coach Gerard Gallant noted after the game that it was only a minor injury. Shesterkin saved all 19 shots in the game and ended up combining a shutout with Alexandar Georgiev. It marks the second combined shutout in team history and the first in the league since 2019. Georgiev should be nicely warmed up now for Saturday's clash with Chicago.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
