4 years agoWashington Capitals goalie Ilya Samsonov recorded a shutout in a 1-0 shootout victory over the New York Islanders on Thursday. Samsonov fought off 28 Islanders shots in the matchup to claim his second shutout of the season. The Russian netminder play has been fantastic for Washington while battling some injuries in the 2021 campaign. He's posted a record of 12-3-1, a 2.65 goals-against average, and a .904 save percentage.
