3 years agoWashington Capitals goaltender Ilya Samsonov shook off some early jitters and stopped 34 shots in a 2-0 shutout over the Los Angeles Kings. Samsonov also made five saves on the penalty kill to preserve the shutout as he kept Washington in the game until the Capitals scored two goals late. The Russian goaltender posted his second "clean sheet" in his last four starts. Will this earn him a few more starts going forward? That seems to be a yes as Samsonov improved to 5-0-1 on the season. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
