2 years agoMinnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr. (thumb) is expected to get back on the practice field this week, according to head coach Kevin O'Connell. The Vikings appear confident that Smith will be ready to suit up for Week 1. This is great to see considering Smith hasn't played in a game since early January of 2021. He is expected to be the primary tight end once he gets back to playing. However, Smith has very little time under O'Connell's system, so he could come out of the gate slowly. There's some TE1 upside here, but he should be considered a TE2 to begin the season.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
