Isaiah McKenzie Expected To Be A Specialist
2 years agoWGRZ's Vic Carucci is predicting that Buffalo Bills veteran wide receiver Jamison Crowder will win the starting slot receiver role in training camp. Crowder is relatively small with a limited catch radius, but he makes up for it with short-area quickness/explosiveness. He also has enough speed to gain plenty of yards after the catch. Isaiah McKenzie and Tavon Austin will compete in the slot with Crowder. McKenzie has exceptional speed and elusiveness, but Carucci seems him continuing to have more of a specialty role in the offense. The 27-year-old had just 20 receptions for 178 yards and one touchdown in 15 regular season games in his third full season with Buffalo in 2021. He could become an intriguing waiver-wire pickup during the season if Crowder suffers an injury that allows McKenzie to become a starter in the slot.
