Isaiah Wynn On The Trade Block?
2 years agoThe New England Patriots have talked to other teams about offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn, the team's first-round pick from 2018. Wynn is on a $10.4 million fifth-year option and he's still seen as a tackle/guard tweener. The Patriots are really tight to the salary cap, and SI.com's Albert Breer's sense is they'd like to use a surplus at one position to alleviate their cap situation and perhaps pick up a draft pick or two. There's also been trade speculation on wide receiver Nelson Agholor, but his big number ($9 million base salary) makes him harder to trade. He's also had a strong training camp this summer and has emerged as a leader in the locker room, so it seems unlikely he'll be dealt. If a receiver is traded, the better bet now is Kendrick Bourne, who will make $3.75 million in 2022.
