4 years agoTexas Rangers utility player Isiah Kiner-Falefa is starting at shortstop for his third consecutive game on Wednesday, and the 25-year-old should pick up shortstop eligibility soon in most leagues. Kiner-Falefa hasn’t had a particularly productive start to the season with a .695 OPS over his first 20 games, but he’s picked up five stolen bases already and has gotten on base at a solid .342 clip thanks to a reasonably aggressive plate approach (50.4% swing rate) and strong contact skills (7.9% swinging-strike rate). Kiner-Falefa’s lack of triple-slash production limits his fantasy value, but if he continues to be effective on the basepaths then he should maintain some value for fantasy players, and his versatility is an added bonus.--Sam Chinitz
