Isiah Kiner-Falefa to Start at Third; Drew Robinson In at Second
7 years agoWith Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre (hamstring) hitting the disabled list officially, the Rangers will use infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa at the hot corner against the A's in his absence. Fellow rookie Drew Robinson will slot in at second on Wednesday. Texas can't get anything to go right on the injury front in 2018 and with Joey Gallo ceding first base to Ronald Guzman and Robinson Chirinos getting the night off, the Rangers will have turned over their entire Opening Day infield just 25 games into the season. Kiner-Falefa continues to yield a decent albeit BABIP-fueled batting average with little in the way of counting stats. Robinson has a little pop but strikes out way too much to depend on for consistent at-bats. If you're depending on either of these two, it says just as much about your team's 2018 chances as it does about the Rangers.
