2 years agoThe middleweight king remains on top, as Israel Adesanya successfully defended his title in a unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46) over former champion Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC 271 on Saturday. Statistically, Adesanya out-struck Whittaker by landing 79 significant strikes (98 total strikes) in 25 minutes of action. Handling most of the middleweight division, it looks like Jared Cannonier could be next on tap for the champion.
