Ivan Nova Clobbered In First Spring Start
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ivan Nova allowed five runs while only recording one out in his Grapefruit League debut on Sunday. Nova allowed a home run on his first pitch of the game and things went downhill from there as the veteran couldn't escape the first inning. The Phillies inked Nova to a minor league deal in January and he'll compete with Vince Velasquez, Matt Moore, and Chase Anderson for a spot in the rotation. Nova posted a SIERA over five in his last full season and has just a 16.8 career strikeout rate so fantasy managers shouldn't be drafting Nova.
