7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates right-hander Ivan Nova allowed five runs on five hits and a walk in 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday, taking the loss against the Minnesota Twins. He struck out just three. Through five frames, Nova was putting together a solid outing, giving up just two runs to put himself in line for a win. He hit a wall with a one-run lead in the sixth inning, however, allowing a walk, two hits, and two runs before he was lifted from the game. Nova isn't off to the best start in 2018, holding a 6.10 ERA through his first two outings. He'll look to bounce back his next time out against the Chicago Cubs.--Matt Wilkes
