6 years agoAs the Toronto Blue Jays fall further out of contention, it’s only natural that we’ll start to hear trade rumors surrounding some of their more productive players. One of those players will be starting pitcher J.A. Happ, who owns a 3.48 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and a 3.76 K/BB across 14 games started this season. Easily Toronto’s most productive pitcher game-in and game-out this year Happ could fetch a nice return from a team in need. According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, two of those teams could be the New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners, who have both expressed interest in Happ. Happ makes a ton of sense for both of them, but with the trade deadline still over a month away we wouldn’t expect a quick move here. Happ going to either team would increase his chances for wins, but Yankee Stadium isn’t the most ideal choice for a home ballpark when it comes to pitching.--John Smith
