7 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher J.A. Happ has been on a roll for most of the season, racking up strikeouts to the tune of a career-high 11.45 K/9 and owning a very solid 3.67 ERA (with 3.02 xFIP). After faltering just a bit against the Tampa Bay Rays last time out, he’ll look to get things going in a tougher matchup against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday. Happ wasn’t bad against Tampa, he only fell one out shy of a quality start – but it wasn’t the Happ we saw the two outings prior that allowed a total of three earned runs across 14 innings pitched against the Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers. Chances are, Happ will provide owners with another solid outing on Thursday despite the matchup.--John Smith
