J.A. Happ Picks Up Crucial Jays Victory
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher J.A. Happ has become the most reliable arm in the team’s rotation, and he proved that worth further on Tuesday by ending a four-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Angels in a 5-3 victory. Happ pitched seven innings, picking up the win by allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five on 99 pitches. After a 10-strikeout performance in his last effort, fantasy owners may be a bit underwhelmed by only obtaining half of that total this time around, but it was a very good start nonetheless. Happ now sits with a 6-3 record on the year, owning a 3.97 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 71 strikeouts across 59 innings pitched. Happ has another tricky matchup against his old Phillies squad in Philadelphia on Sunday, but you’re starting him nonetheless.
