J.C. Jackson Lands Big Deal With Chargers
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers gave former New England Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson a five-year, $82.5 million deal on Monday that includes $40 million guaranteed, according to a source. Jackson was the top cornerback on the open market after he wasn't given the franchise tag by the Patriots. The 26-year-old has 25 interceptions in his first four NFL seasons, and he also had more interceptions (eight) than the entire Chargers team in 2021. The addition of Jackson makes the Chargers defense one of the better units in the NFL -- they also traded for pass-rusher Khalil Mack last week to pair with All-Pro defensive end Joey Bosa. Jackson will work alongside cornerback Asante Samuel and safeties Derwin James and Nasir Adderley.
