4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman/outfielder J.D. Davis went 2-for-4 in the Mets' 5-3 loss to the Phillies on Friday. On the season, Davis is batting .281 with five home runs and 13 RBI in 121 at-bats. Davis had cooled off after a hot start to the season but is once again starting to show signs of life at the plate. He broke out in 2019 where he hit .307 with 22 home runs, scored 65 runs, and drove in 57 RBI. Despite recent struggles and the acquisition of Todd Frazier at the MLB trade deadline, the Mets have been keeping Davis' bat in the lineup, primarily at third base. Though Frazier's presence may cut into Davis' playing time, it would be hard for the Mets to routinely relegate Davis to the bench given his 2019 breakout and solid performance thus far in 2020. Managers in weekly lineup leagues should be mindful that Davis may sit a game or two in any given week due to the Mets' infield log jam. Managers who roster Davis in daily lineup leagues (as well as DFS players) should remain diligent in checking posted lineups prior to game time each day.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
