J.D. Davis Has No New Structural Damage
5 years agoThe results of an MRI taken on New York Mets infielder/outfielder J.D. Davis (shoulder) on Wednesday did not reveal any tears or new structural damage, according to Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen. Davis did have old structural damage in his labrum that the Mets were aware of, but it was an asymptomatic non-issue. For the next few days, Davis will rest and rehab to get rid of the inflammation. Davis, who has been getting repetitions at third base in an attempt to get his bat into the lineup regularly during the season, is a breakout candidate heading into 2020. It appears Davis dodged a serious bullet with this injury. With that said, his progress over the next few days regarding the inflammation will determine whether Davis remains on track to begin the season on time.
