J.D. Davis Heads To The 10-Day Injured List
4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman/outfielder J.D. Davis (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April 7 by the Mets on Saturday. Davis had been day-to-day since getting hit in the hand with a pitch on Tuesday against the Phillies. Although additional X-rays on Wednesday came back negative, confirming that Davis had no break, he just could not avoid a trip to the IL. Jonathan Villar, who is starting at third base on Saturday for the Mets, stands to see an increase in playing time while Davis remains sidelined. With no break or fracture, Davis will hopefully be back from the IL in the minimum amount of time and rejoin the Mets' lineup soon.
