3 years agoNew York Mets third baseman J.D. Davis went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in the Mets 2-1 loss to the Washington Nationals on Friday. Davis had begun to heat up at the plate during the Mets recent road trip on the west coast, but he has since cooled off. Davis is now hitting just .211/.318/.368 over his last seven games (19 at-bats) with one home run and four RBI. Much like the majority of the Mets offense, Davis has not done much at the plate in the month of August, despite the short hot streak on the team's last road trip. But for a solid on-base percentage, Davis is hitting just .265/.373/.382 with one home run and 10 RBI in August over 68 at-bats. Davis can be largely ignored in shallow mixed league formats at this point, especially given his overall poor counting stat production on the season which includes just five home runs and 21 RBI over 51 games.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
