J.D. Davis Remains Out Of Lineup Saturday
4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman/outfielder J.D. Davis (hand) remains out of the lineup on Saturday for the Mets' afternoon tilt at home against the Miami Marlins. Davis has been day-to-day since getting hit in the hand with a pitch on Tuesday against the Phillies. Although additional X-rays on Wednesday came back negative confirming that Davis has no break, his return remains delayed. Manager Luis Rojas reportedly sounded unsure on Saturday as to whether Davis will still require a trip to the injured list. Jonathan Villar will start at the hot corner on Saturday and bat eighth. With no break or fracture, Davis can hopefully avoid the IL and be back in the lineup for the Mets in short order.
