J.D. Martinez Breaks Out With Homer
3 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez bounced back after a day off on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored in a 5-3 extra-inning win over Cleveland. Martinez's three-run shot, his 24th of the season, proved to be the game-winner in the top of the 10th. This performance breaks a four-game hitless streak, giving fantasy managers hope that Martinez won't tail off as fantasy playoffs approach. He still has a .283/.347/.521 slash line for the season with 82 RBI and 80 runs scored, so a strong finish appears in order.
