J.D. Martinez Dealing With Groin Tightness
3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (groin) was diagnosed with left adductor tightness after leaving Wednesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays early. He sustained the injury while heading into second base after hitting a double in the third inning. He went 2-for-2 with the double before exiting. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time, and Martinez is considered day-to-day. Martinez is slashing .268/.354/.463 with one home and seven RBI over 12 games in 2022. Christian Arroyo replaced Martinez in the game and would see an uptick in at-bats if the veteran was forced to miss any games. Stay tuned for more information on Martinez's injury.
