J.D. Martinez Discussing Deals With Arizona
7 years agoFree-agent outfielder J.D. Martinez, who has a five-year offer of at least $120 million from the Red Sox, has discussed short-term and long-term deals with the Arizona Diamondbacks as well. With the free-agent market moving like molasses and although the Red Sox have been the favorites to land Martinez all along, the D-backs may remain in play to re-sign the slugger the longer he's available. Martinez is by far the most attractive free-agent power hitter on the market, and he hit a whopping 45 dingers between the Tigers and Diamondbacks in 2017. Wherever he lands, he'll be an extremely expensive early-round fantasy target.
