J.D. Martinez Extends Hitting Streak To 17 Games
3 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball of late, and he extended his hitting streak to 17 games on Monday night against the Houston Astros, going 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. For the month of May, Martinez is slashing .364/.397/.600 with three home runs, nine RBI, and seven runs scored in 58 plate appearances. While fantasy managers may hope Martinez's home run numbers climb higher than his current mark of four for the season, it's hard to argue that a player who has reached base in every game this year has been at all disappointing.
