6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez left the game Thursday in the seventh inning due to a stomach illness, according to Christopher Smith of MassLive.com. Martinez did what is expected of a cleanup hitter, hitting a homer before succumbing to illness. He hit his 13th homer, a two-run shot, in the first inning off of Kevin Gausman. It was his second consecutive game with a homer and he has hit five homers in the last eight games. Martinez continues to be the power contributor the Red Sox and fantasy owners needed.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
